Sivas Valisi Yılmaz Şimşek ve eşi Dr. Çiğdem Olgun Şimşek, TOKİ Ahmet Yesevi Ortaokulu bünyesinde açılan ve Şehit Polis Memuru Şeyda Yılmaz’ın ismini taşıyan kütüphanenin açılış törenine katıldı. PTT Çalışanları Derneği’nin katkılarıyla kurulan kütüphane, dualar ve kurdele kesimiyle hizmete girdi.
Törene İl Emniyet Müdürü Ahmet Alaağaçlı, İl Millî Eğitim Müdürü Fatih Erdoğan, şehit polisin ailesi, yakınları ve veliler katılım sağladı. Kütüphanenin kurulmasında emeği geçen herkese teşekkür eden Vali Şimşek, şu ifadeleri kullandı:
"Kütüphaneler bilginin ve irfanın yuvasıdır. Çocuklarımız bu modern kütüphaneden en güzel şekilde istifade edecekler."
Açılışın ardından Şimşek çifti kütüphaneyi gezerek öğrencilerle bir araya geldi. Öğrencilerle yakından ilgilenen Vali Şimşek, onlara bol bol kitap okumaları yönünde tavsiyelerde bulundu.
Martyr Şeyda Yılmaz’s Name to Live On in New Library
Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek and his wife, Dr. Çiğdem Olgun Şimşek, attended the opening ceremony of a library named after Martyr Police Officer Şeyda Yılmaz at TOKİ Ahmet Yesevi Middle School. Established with the contributions of the PTT Employees Association, the library was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The program was attended by Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Alaağaçlı, Provincial Director of National Education Fatih Erdoğan, the family and relatives of the martyr, and parents. Expressing his gratitude to those who contributed to bringing a modern library to the school, Governor Şimşek stated:
"Libraries are the homes of knowledge and wisdom. Our children will benefit from this modern library in the best possible way."
Following the opening, the Governor and his wife toured the library and spent time with the students, encouraging them to read as many books as possible for their personal development.
